A project in aeotime is one brand on one domain. Setting it up takes three steps, and aeotime does most of the work: it reads your site, drafts a brand profile, and suggests competitors and prompts for you to confirm.
Step 1: Scan your site
Open the app and click New project, then enter your domain (for example yourbrand.com). aeotime:
- Fetches your homepage and a few key pages (pricing, product, about).
- Checks whether AI crawlers are allowed in your
robots.txt. - Builds a brand profile: name, aliases, category, products, audience and main market.
- Suggests competitors and the prompts your buyers are likely to ask AI assistants.
The scan takes about 30 seconds.
Step 2: Review what we found
You'll see the brand profile, suggested competitors and suggested prompts. Before you continue:
- Brand name and aliases. Add short names, old names or product names people use. Mentions are matched against these, so missing aliases mean missed mentions.
- Market. The two-letter country code answers are collected for (for example
US,GB,DE). You can add more markets later — see Markets & personas. - Competitors. Keep the brands buyers really compare you with. Three to eight is a good range.
- Prompts. Keep the questions that match what you sell. Remove anything too broad. You can add your own at the bottom.
Click Create project.
Step 3: Connect your Google data
The last step asks you to connect Google Search Console and GA4. It's optional, but recommended — see Connect Search Console & GA4. While you're on this screen, aeotime runs a full site audit in the background.
What happens next
- Tracking. Every active prompt is asked on every engine in your plan, once a week. You can also start a run any time with Run now on the project overview.
- Overview. Visibility, share of voice, position, citation rate and sentiment appear after the first run. See Metrics explained.
- Action plan. A prioritised list of what to fix and create, updated after every run and audit. See Action plan.
Tracking runs during your trial and on paid plans. If you haven't started a trial yet, open Billing in the app.
Questions
How long until I see results?
The first run starts as soon as your trial begins. Collecting every prompt on eight engines usually takes a few minutes to an hour, depending on how many prompts you track.
Can I change the prompts and competitors later?
Yes. Everything you confirm during setup can be edited any time from the Prompts and Competitors pages.
Do I need Search Console or GA4?
No, but both make the action plan more useful: Search Console turns real searches into prompts, and GA4 shows visits that AI engines send you.
