Both integrations are per project and read-only. You can connect them during setup or later from Settings → Integrations in any project.
Why connect Search Console
Google Search Console shows the searches that already bring people to your site. aeotime uses it to:
- Suggest prompts from real queries. Question-style and comparison queries ("best … for …", "… vs …", "how to …") are turned into natural AI prompts that you review before adding.
- Show where you rank in Google. AI Overviews and Gemini mostly draw on pages that already rank, so ranking data explains a lot of AI visibility.
Why connect GA4
Google Analytics 4 shows visits that AI engines send you. aeotime reads sessions whose source is an AI assistant — for example chatgpt.com, perplexity.ai, gemini.google.com, claude.ai and copilot — and reports:
- AI referral sessions over time and by engine
- Which landing pages AI engines send people to
- Engaged sessions and key events from those visits
How to connect
- Open your project, then Settings → Integrations (or the connect step right after creating a project).
- Click Connect Search Console or Connect GA4.
- Sign in with Google and allow read-only access. Keep the permission checkbox ticked.
- Back in aeotime, choose the property. If a Search Console property matches your domain, it's selected for you.
Using the data
- Prompts → Add prompts → From Search Console suggests prompts from your top question-like queries of the last 90 days.
- Settings → Integrations shows AI referral traffic from GA4 for the last 28 days.
- The action plan adds actions once the data is connected.
Troubleshooting
| Message | What to do |
|---|---|
| "Google didn't grant the permission we need" | Connect again and keep the permission checkbox ticked on Google's consent screen. |
| "Google didn't return a long-lived token" | Remove aeotime from your Google account's third-party access, then connect again. |
| No properties in the list | The Google account you used has no access to a property. Ask the property owner to add it, or connect with another account. |
